Originally named "the Plastic Paint Paddle Company, Harbor Plastics Mfg., Co. was
established in 1970 with a single press in a small industrial park by
Wesley Seapy to manufacture plastic paint
paddles that sold by mail order around the United States and Canada. Not being able to sustain the company on that single produt, Wes went into custom injection molding to keep his machine busy. In 1988, Harbor had out-grown
it’s original building and moved into a 10,000 sq ft
World War II era Quonset hut where it expanded to six injection molding
machines. In 1996 Harbor expanded this facility adding office,
assembly, warehousing, and tooling. 1998 saw Harbor expand again bringing the total size of its
California facility to nearly 25,000 sq ft with 12 injection molding
machines.
In 2000, Harbor could
no-longer contain it’s growth within this newly
expanded facility and so purchased Valley Precision Plastics in Phoenix,
Arizona. Since then, Valley Precision has grown approximately 30%
and continues to serve the Automotive and Industrial industries.
In 2000 Jon Lawlis, received California’s SBA business man of the
year award. Harbor continues to expand is capabilities, facilities, and
business with strong financial results and an excellent management team.
